Here is a song that applies to the book series. I wrote and recorded this song back in 1995, and have re-released it this month. It had been a long lost album for years. This is King Robert's mindset early in the plot.

Defcon 2012 is my very first indie feature length movie, one I produced, along with Brian Shotwell, a few years ago in an abandoned shopping mall. We shot this on a working man's budget, and never expected it to be an international hit. We shot this film as a a kind of film school, or learning project. Since then, we have shot other feature films, including House of Mirrors, which is very good and scary movie. House of Mirrors has a edge of the chair and tight plot.

Along with Defcon 2012 and House of Mirrors, I have worked on two shorts, one award winning, one having gone to Cannes - both being in various film festivals. The shorts are Motel 5150 and Automaton.

Motel 5150 is a suspense shot in black and white, and takes place in the 1940's. It's about wealthy man and his gold digger new wife getting stranded in an old run down motel.

Automaton is a darling animation about a robotic butterfly that saves the day.

Along with these films, I am in the process of shooting three documentaries. One is about California's earthquakes and a rifting zone, one is about a horse rescue operation, and the other is about an eccentric aging singer.

My Movie Decon 2012 is #205 on IMBd

Today I got great news that my first indie feature film, Defcon 2012 is ranked #205 on IMDb. This comes as a big surprise, two years after we got it into distribution. It's now a cult sci-fi and is popular in Europe and Asia. We shot the movie in an abandoned mall in Palm Springs, CA, using minimum equipment and a budget of only $35,000. It was quite a learning experience for us, and since, my team and I have put out the feature horror, House of Mirrors.

I've been writing my book series too, and tightening the plot. It is a very exciting series, and I put in some scenes that will sure to controversial.

I encourage anyone having creativity to get going on their project, and do so with courage and poise. Don't fall back your fears of how people may react. Just do it.

Here is a personal rock performer pal of mine that's heart wrenched. I worry sick about him! He's Jeremiah Saint of Regenerator.

I am writing about King Stephan right now, a man being wrecked by love in a breakup, only to set himself up for yet again heartbreak. But you know what? We all go through this turbulence called love. It's a part of the fabric of life. It's embedded in the fabric of the universe so that we grow and involve.

I've been writing some pretty controversial material lately, so tighten your seat belts, baby!

Does Artificial Intelligence Indeed Think Like Humans?

Now I am deeply into writing Diablo Diaries and have already blogged my teaser, which is only the tip of the iceberg. I won't share more, for you'll have to buy the book at read the whole thing. But now I will share a line, a qoute or an image now and then, articles related to the subject of the book. Lot's of science and geo-politics to cover.

I have been sitting in various coffee places and in my garden writing about four hours a day. While doing so, I have been keeping a close eye on the geo-political debacle we're in. The current situation inspires my story, as we are in a nuclear stand down not unlike the Cuban Missile Crisis, although I hope this one is not as sharp as that one had been, back in 1961.

My book is at the stage where AI becomes a critical problem, and King Stephan's team of intel experts have their hands full trying to overcome the problem.

Here is an interesting thought provoking article on Artificial Intelligence, and if it does indeed think. This is a great read, and is inspiring a scene already, where a gloomy but smart young King Robert waxes philosophy on the topic of AI and world leadership, and game theory, and only KIng Stephan seems to listen to the troubled genius.

Here is someone who is, like me, placing monarchy in a dramatic moment into his art. This is a great mix, and I suggest hearing it while reading about King Stephan. This D. J lives in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and he lives where there has been lot's of tensions and drama on the streets.

"Stephan, why would you even think of breeching airspace like that?"

"I've been doing it all a long for weeks. Not in this plane, but an array of aircraft."

"Why?"

"To set an example in light of the world government."

"What?"

"The world government is not legitimate in my opinion, and in the opinion of the vast majority of my population. That airspace belongs to the Kingdom of Montenegro, not the World Federation. If this plane files a flight plan for an airport within the territory of Montenegro, than that plane should be allowed to enter and land, regardless of who is on board"

"You do have a point."

"What I'm doing is an application of indirect power. Each time word gets out that I have penetrated my kingdom's airspace, people take to the streets in support of a fully sovereign nation, and a break off from the World Federation, and in support of their symbol of that full sovereignty, which is me."

"Even if you are a bit wacky, you are indeed smart. I guess that is good thinking. Just risky as ever."

"Even my wacky actions set precedence."

"Oh my God." She stifled a giggle.

Stephan went with that, "Wacky precedence, such is the application of soft power!"

She fell into a little fit of the giggles.

Stephan smiled, "You like my wackyness, I can tell."

"I don't know. Well, I guess I do."

"You do. But honestly, all the wild things I do, the whole persona of not giving a damn, and being relatively carefree and simply myself - well that indeed influences others to simply break free. Society has been so damned conformist, all in the name of equality - it's smothering the people."

She nodded, knowing, most certainly.

He smiled, sweeping yet more of her hair, "Hey by the way, you just cheered me up. I was getting kind of sad thinking about being kept out of my country. Thank you for that."

"You looked like you needed it."

Stephan fetched a bottle of good French bubbly, and carefully uncorked it.

"Oh my God, what are you doing now?" She giggled.

"Toasting in the application of soft power via wacky precedence!"

She now really had a fit of the giggles, as he now held up his glass in the most stately way possible in the cabin of a jet.

"To the application of wacky precedence to the best of my abilities, so help me God!"

He clinked his glass with hers, and took a gulp and sigh. She continued her giggles.
